Good evening everyone,
I just started barefoot running over the past month, and have fallen in love so far. It's been years since I've ran without shin splits, nice to be out again!
I'm up to about 25 miles a week, and I tend to take it pretty slow; more so interested in pace then distance and speed, so an hour each time I'm out. Unfortunately this week I noticed my knees are a bit tender (slight pop in the left) in general and need to take a break. Not a pain really, more an ache and a looseness, and I'd rather not gamble.
Any ideas of how I'm running that could be causing this? My assumption is that my stride is too long: even though I'm landing better now (toes up, front and mid to heel gently) , I maybe just extending my knee too much avoiding a heel strike, maybe need to take smaller steps.
Lately I have been running in Vibram's too, since I can't always make it out and a treadmill sometimes requires shoes at the local gym.
Ideas and guidance appreciated, I'd like to figure this out. Thank you!
