I have flat feet which stopped me from training for whatever I wanted to do many years ago, and have been on orthotics since. As soon as I read Born to Run I was convinced to try this. I heard of a few stories where people claim to have increased their foot's arch through barefoot training. I haven't begun my training yet but I hope to bring my foot's arch back up. I was wondering if any of you have experienced this?

  2. I have been running in Vibram fivefingers since June 25. In just that little bit of time I have noticed many benefits, one is that my arches have gotten higher. Well, its more like my arches are returning to what they were when I first began running 31 years ago! .. I just took a picture today of one of my footprints. I stepped in water barefoot and was amazed at how high my arch was in the print I left behind! .. You can see that on my blog post from today:

Good luck in your barefoot training ! :)
