    Hello,

Been thinking about barefoot running for months now. Read Michael and Jessica's book right when it came out (pre-order), was still scared to take the plunge. Finally I saw them speak last weekend and could wait no more so this afternoon I did about 150 yards on the street. Had to argue with the devil on my shoulder saying "run further, run further" but I won.

What finally put me over the edge? Quitting at mile 2 of what was supposed to be a 10 mile run before work this morning because my knee hurt.

So, we will see. It is the start of a big experiment.

Way to go Dan! Wish I had read their book before I slipped on a pair a super minimalist shoes thinking I would transition from them to pure barefoot. What a mistake that was... I'm into it now about 8 weeks or so and am running 3 miles every other day and looking forward to that day where I am back to my 10 mile runs. I know now this is going to take several months and a lot of patience on my part. I completely agree with Michael when he says countless times, "Let your skin be your guide," is the key to being a successful barefoot runner...

Good luck and keep us posted...
