I recently started barefoot running (1 week ago). Up until a few days ago all my runs have taken place in the morning before work. Well one day after work I came straight home, took of my shoes and headed out the door. I didn't run much further than last time (I am progressing slowly) but I assume due to my tender feet from being in shoes all day I ended up bruising my big toe and the ball of my foot (it's black and blue). I am not concerned about the bruising, I can work around that. My question is how long after being at work all day (9-5) and being shod should I wait before running after I get home? Any tips on how to keep my feet dry at work (I have to wear dress shoes)? Will being shod at work all day prevent my feet from growing tougher since they are always remaining moist? Any other useful information on this topic would greatly be appreciated. Finally just as a reference I was up to doing .75 miles barefoot before my injury. Thanks for the help!
